Civility

When I was younger, I swore when I got older I would never start a sentence with, “Well, in my day. . . ” And, here I am old and starting a sentence with, “Well, in my day. . .we had more civility.” I’ve wondered why I think that, because even in my day we had bigots, cheats, liars and murderers. Actually, those people have been around ever since Adam and Eve ate that apple. However, I think we did have more civility. It has to with the fact we weren’t bombarded by the media: Social media where people can hid behind fictitious names and says horrible things; T.V. programs where comedy consists of the characters belittling each other and spouting language we knew but never spoke in public. Technology has changed our lives.
